Besides, its high flow-through design allows for rapid fluid movement without excessive suction, making ‘milking’ unnecessary. Milking can cause pressure changes in the pleural space, increasing the risk of cross-contamination or dislodgement. The mediastinal tube design is also mathematically optimized, which results in a smaller anterior and posterior space occupation. Consequently, this design helps reduce compression on the heart, which can be particularly essential in cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries.

Currently, a large European distributor is conducting clinical studies on Axiom^® Medical’s products for use in pulmonary and cardiovascular procedures.
