In real-time, non-invasive medical imaging, RFPi aspires to become a leader. Mid-stage RFPi pioneers advanced technology in the field of medical imaging to enhance surgical outcomes, cut healthcare costs, repeated surgeries and hospital readmissions, and improve patient care. In its multispectral physiologic visualizing technology, RFPi secured three patents offering significant intellectual property protection. Its patented and proprietary intellectual properties have promoted the development of an immediate visualization and measurement without injection, radiation or direct contact with patients, of blood flow or infusion by means of its iCertainty platform. X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and PET―neither of these existing scanning devices can provide a surgeon with real-time images and blood flow and perfusion data without interrupting the procedure dramatically, requiring patient contact, and increasing patient risk.

The proprietary and patentable iCertainty platform and devices provide invasive, cost-efficient, and real-time imagery of tissue and blood flows generated by data collection and instant analysis in real time. This new physiological imagery is relevant in all fields of medicines in which real-time imaging and analysis of the flow and perfusion physiology and pathophysiology can impact on the clinician’s technical decisions and the procedural results.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance of RFPi's iCertainty medical device for blood and perfusion imaging has been granted to begin marketing for open surgery by surgeons. RFPi’s proprietary product shows blood flow and infusion during operations in real time in vascular structures and critical tissue. iCertainty is the first imaging device that does not need injections, dyes, radiation, and contact with patients or interruption of surgery as traditional methods—like X-ray, ultrasound, and MRI.
iCertainty offers surgeons, hospitals, patients, and third-party payers a chance to reduce procedure complications, repeat surgeries, reduce hospital costs, and objectively measure and significantly improve clinical outcomes by facilitating surgeon immediately to see blood flow and infusion during procedures. For imaging blood flow and tissue perfusion to a depth of 4-5mm, iCertainty has been cleaned out by FDA. Initial early applications were anticipated to include gastrointestinal, plastic and inferior-leg vascular operations. To provide real-time visualization and quantification of blood flow and perfusion, MSPV uses low-energy laser systems, high-speed imaging cameras and proprietary analysis methods, and flow estimates. In light of the country’s growing diabetic population, RFPi investigators also develop a mobile device that can prove useful in ambulatory environments, particularly in wound-care and diabetic clinics.
