The conference will help in spreading and raising awareness among the growing chronic population.
FREMONT, CA: In the current era, chronic diseases are responsible for most of the deaths and disabilities across the world. According to the World Health Report, over 60 percent of all deaths are attributed to chronic diseases, namely cardiovascular diseases (CVD), cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and type 2 diabetes. In the U.S. alone, over 133 million people suffer from chronic health conditions. Most of the chronic conditions are attributed to preventable biological risk factors, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and overweight. They are also linked to several behavioral factors such as unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, and tobacco use.

The lack of awareness often causes people to disregard the warning signs on the path toward contracting chronic conditions. To inform people and raise awareness, Healthline Media, a health information company, along with Nitika Chopra, a lifestyle expert, announced the launch of Chronicon, a daylong event which is to be held on October 28 in New York City.
Tracy Rosecrans, SVP of Marketing at Healthline, said, “At Healthline, we’re committed to helping people suffering from all health conditions. Chronicon embodies that commitment by creating a safe and supportive place for people with chronic conditions to learn, engage, and support one another. Nitika’s energy and passion for life are inspiring, and Chronicon promises to be an exciting and enriching experience for all who attend.”
The co-creator of Chronicon, Nitika has struggled with painful psoriasis since age ten and the commitment of Healthline to promote educational, authentic, and inspiring content motivated her to collaborate on the conference. Over 200 health, wellness, and social media experts, and influencers advocating a healthier lifestyle to the chronic community are expected to participate in Chronicon. It will comprise panels, workshops, and networking opportunities for the participants. The combined reach of the social media influencers expected to attend the event is estimated to be over seven million people globally.
With its robust and innovative approaches, Healthline is taking health conversations from bland and one-dimensional to engaging and informative. Healthline aims to invest in individuals trying to make a difference, helping them collaborate and support the afflicted by raising awareness about the growing chronic population.
