Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation or low-level light therapy (LLLT) is a technique that can help alleviate acne, fine lines, wrinkles, alopecia, and several other skin and health issues.
Fremont, CA: Red light therapy is a non-invasive procedure that employs low-level wavelengths of red or near-infrared (NIR) light to the body or significant regions. Photons, or single light units, are captured by photosensitive molecules in your skin cells during therapy. This can result in reduced inflammation, more tissue repair, and faster skin healing in red light therapies.

Red light therapy is a potential treatment with numerous benefits, including improved skin appearance and wound healing. However, additional research is needed to determine its possible clinical benefits because it has only recently been used and studied.
Rejuvenates Skin
Red light therapy can help enhance the appearance and texture of skin.
In a trial of 136 adults, red light therapy reduced fine lines, wrinkles, and skin roughness while increasing collagen density. Researchers discovered that red light therapy is a safe way to treat skin tissue with excellent patient satisfaction ratings. It's worth noting that a light treatment business sponsored the trial; therefore, more research is needed.
Another study showed that red light treatment is safe and effective for the skin. Red light treatment activates key cell-signaling pathways that promote cell healing, particularly in hypoxic (low oxygen) or stressed skin cells. Your skin's overall appearance may improve as cells mend themselves.
Improves Acne
Studies have shown that red light therapy may be effective for treating acne. When applied to the skin, red light treatment lowers inflammation and improves keratinocyte turnover, the most prevalent type of skin cell that makes up the top layer of skin.
Research has also encouraged the use of red and blue light to treat mild-to-moderate acne. However, more research is needed on the long-term impacts of red light on acne and its use for severe acne.
Assists in Wound Healing
Many studies on red light treatment have investigated its benefits on wound healing. According to a survey of four, including 131 persons with diabetic foot ulcers, red light therapy produced significant therapeutic outcomes with no notable adverse effects. This shows that red light treatment could help treat diabetic foot ulcers and other lesions.
