While technology has advanced significantly, the focus on expanding healthcare technology should complement rather than replace a physician's workflow

Surgeons and other professionals who perform hands-on treatments were especially confident—even if a computer could comprehend theoretical medical information, a human body is still required to perform complex surgeries, or at the very least, to drive a robot to perform the surgery. The idea is simple: a skilled surgeon sits near the patient's console, controlling three or four robotic arms that execute the surgery. This is particularly beneficial in minimally invasive operations, which frequently necessitate incredibly precise hand movements and ranges of motion. The demand for high-tech surgical robots has only grown in recent years.
Despite the importance of physicians and surgeons in procedural medicine, an important question arises: how much longer will it take for developers to find a way to transform these robotic systems from dependent to semi-autonomous to fully autonomous systems, given how quickly this industry is growing? Is it so difficult to imagine a world in which a robot will conduct even complex surgery on its own?
The subject gets even more intriguing when it comes to non-procedural medicine. Artificial intelligence is, without a doubt, at the forefront of diagnosis. Developers have made great progress in terms of how smart AI has grown, particularly when it comes to predictive analysis, large data comprehension, and decision-making using previous data. This field has likewise surged in the recent decade in terms of innovation. A patient does not go to a doctor seeking a quick fix or a single-layered solution to a medical problem; rather, medicine is an art in which numerous layers of variables are considered before making a medical decision. While an AI system may be able to predict with some certainty what treatment a cancer patient should receive based on the millions of other data sets it has evaluated, a doctor may go ten steps farther. Technology may be helpful in enhancing a physician's workflow or boosting the quality of their decisions. However, technology will never be able to really replace what it takes to be a doctor and the critical patient-physician interaction that is unique to each patient.
