This coverage is now achievable—not with complex medical instruments, but with simple everyday wearables,” adds Olivier.
Smartwatches and other wearables continuously measure an extra layer of key biometrics in addition to the typically available heart rate, skin temperature, and blood pressure, including sleep activity, respiration rate, and daily fitness, enabling clinical-grade health screening and monitoring. Given this data, smartwatches and other wearables are ideal for monitoring long-term health concerns to aid physicians and healthcare workers before diagnoses and throughout treatment, as well as consumers wanting to better their health and wellness.

LifeQ-enabled medical devices will aid busy physicians in detecting critical medical situations, enabling data-driven disease classification, and facilitating disease prevention. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, chronic disease accounts for more than 85 percent of healthcare costs and affects 50 percent of the population; it is also the most difficult to identify. LifeQ's technology has successfully identified acute disease in a wide variety of participants over the past several years, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, by identifying and enabling treatment and avoiding the spread, frequently in symptomless people.
LifeQ's innovative mix of photoplethysmography (PPG) and computational systems biology makes it feasible to detect and signal disease utilizing wearable devices.
