In recent years, AI has received increased interest in the biomedical realm. The growth of AI-based applications in recent years has significantly impacted our working and living habits. Human-like cognition and task execution can be achieved by machines that mimic the human mind's ability to learn and solve problems.
FREMON, CA: With the rapid advancement of science and technology, artificial intelligence (AI) systems are increasingly pervasive, and their utility in gastroenterology is beginning to be acknowledged. Endoscopy of the digestive tract is a common and reliable procedure for examining and diagnosing digestive tract illnesses. However, as the quantity and variety of endoscopies have increased, issues such as a dearth of trained endoscopists and a disparity in the professional skills of doctors with varying levels of experience have grown more apparent. The majority of research to date has focused on using computers to detect and diagnose lesions, but improving the quality of the endoscopic examination process is the foundation for increasing the detection rate and accurately diagnosing diseases. In this study, we primarily examined the role of AI in monitoring systems, focusing on the endoscopic examination time, the reduction of blind spots, the improvement of the success rate for detecting high-risk lesions, the evaluation of intestinal preparation, the increase in the detection rate of polyps, the automatic collection of maps, and the generation of reports. AI can even undertake quality control evaluations for endoscopists, increase the detection rate of endoscopic lesions, and alleviate endoscopists' workload.

In contrast to machines, the human brain may make errors during long-term work due to weariness, stress, and other distractions; consequently, AI technology can compensate for humans' limited capabilities. The discipline of biomedicine has paid growing attention to AI during the past few decades.
Computer-assisted detection (CADe) and computer-assisted diagnosis (CADx) have been the two primary applications of AI in endoscopy. Endoscopy continues to rely substantially on the technical expertise of the endoscopist, although many of the positive qualities of AI appear promising for endoscopy in normal practice. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality of endoscopy to increase the detection rate and ensure accurate disease diagnosis.
