This principle applies particularly to student admission to all the College’s programs and academic activities. It is also applicable to extracurricular activities, student services, and the work of college students and teachers and non-educational staff.

In the autumn of 2019, Wallace Community College-Dothan (WCCD) will formally open a new Program on Surgical Technology. The program will supplement the seven existing credit science programs. The program has, in part, been made possible through a Wiregrass Foundation grant, supported by the Southeast Health and Flowers Hospital. A coordinated effort between these cohorts was formed to develop a Surgical Technology Program, which was directed by an accredited institution in the field.
Surgical technicians are a component of the surgical team. They are preparing surgical rooms, sterilizing equipment, ensuring adequate procedural provisions, prepared people, counting supplies, and maintaining a sterile environment. Technologists can pass surgeons or helpers instruments and supplies, install equipment and prepare the room of the next patient during the surgery.
