For instance, a leading company for dermatological surgical equipment purchased a product through acquisition and wanted to increase market penetration of this product. As they began to increase production, breakdowns repeatedly occurred during the manufacturing process. Additionally, they were concerned that their existing contract manufacturer wasn't ISO 13485- 2016 Certified and were working from a paper Design History File. The company needed a contract manufacturer that was ISO 13485-2016 Certified, FDA Registered, and could execute a quick and cost-effective design transfer to their facility to meet a tight timeline and avoid backorders. RBC was able to meet both conditions—effectively and efficiently. RBC's team reviewed documentation as well as the design and updated to improve manufacturing process efficiency and product quality. The team also identified and eliminated an issue with device calibration, which would have required the client to open and re-calibrate all products before shipping.

RBC was able to transfer manufacturing from the client’s existing contract manufacturer to its facility in less than three months. RBC shipped over 400 units with zero defect issues to the company. They now have a complete digital design and manufacturing documentation package that allows them to easily access and share documents internally for maintenance, document control, and regulatory audits, saving them time and money.
