The company is establishing a program in collaboration with a prominent regional pharmacy, extending to 1,300 of their locations, where it is revolutionizing accessibility by introducing a mobile lab concept. Individuals can approach a kiosk, register, select their preferred time slot, and undergo a rapid scan of any suspicious pigmented lesion or mole, taking just five seconds.

“We aim to remove the necessity of visiting primary care facilities, alleviating the strain on the existing healthcare system,” says Gardner.

The current conventional route entails a visit to a primary care physician for routine matters, where concerns about skin irregularities are often raised. However, in most cases, primary care physicians lack the technology or expertise for an accurate assessment. Patients are consequently referred to dermatologists, which can cause considerable delays, intensifying anxiety. Upon visiting a dermatologist, the initial assessment typically involves basic tools, leading to uncertainty, and in most cases, necessitates a biopsy. Subsequent procedures involve excisions, lab work, and further visits, resulting in multiple co-payments and a protracted timeline.

Veriosys Technologies offers a different paradigm. For a flat fee of $99, individuals can undergo a five-second scan, following which a U.S. board-certified dermatologist will provide a conclusive assessment within 48 hours, determining if the lesion is indicative of melanoma or other non-melanoma conditions like basal cell carcinoma or squamous cells.
